No horse treat from Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

The Duchess of Cornwall admitted in a recent trip to horse stables that she did not have any mints to give as a horse treat, reports horsemart.co.uk

Camilla was invited to visit the World Class Para-Equestrian Performance Dressage Squad at the Unicorn Equestrian Trust, near Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire.

She has been patron of the British Equestrian Federation since April 2006 and viewed a training session held for nine of the elite riders - five of whom will be chosen to represent Great Britain at next year's Paralympics.

The duchess met with the athletes, trainers, grooms and the horses. However, she soon made it clear that she had no horse treat to offer them: "I usually come equipped with Polos," she said. "But see - empty pockets. I've left my Polos behind."

The horse riders are in training for the European Championships in Moorsele, Belgium, in September - the biggest competition before the Paralympics next year.
