New Dales Bridleway gets Closer!

As part of a new 200-mile route from Derbyshire via Yorkshire to Cumbria is well under way.  Almost four miles of new track will be created from Garsdale Station, heading towards the national park’s northern border.

A spokesman said: “This is a unique opportunity to create a new section of bridleway through the magnificent Dales upland landscape."

The National Park Authority hopes to have completed the vast majority of the work on the bridleway by spring 2010, with the remaineder to be completed in 2011.

At present, there are just under 50 miles of bridleway in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which are mainly old packhorse trails and drove roads.
